Chengdu Westminster School officially appoints Dr Min Du as Director of Education and Principal of Junior Middle School (Acting).
As the first and the only Chinese EdD in Education in the University of Cambridge, Dr Min Du is a rarely-seen bilingual education expert with a Doctoral Degree in Education with extensive experience in both China and UK.
Dr Min Du’s major domain of research focuses on designing online and offline English course to help Chinese English learners to improve communication competence. She has also been extensively involved in integrated international curriculum, cutting edge teaching methodology, teacher management and teachers’ professional capacity development, and the development of educational and teaching projects using modern technology, to name but a few. Additionally, she gained an MBA degree in Educational Management from University of Leicester.
Before joining Chengdu Westminster School, she has taught maths at junior middle schools and senior schools in UK for more than 15 years, she has obtained the highest teaching qualification in the UK and also served as the PGCE lecturer in Cambridge University. Previously, Min was the chief curriculum consultant for an international branch of a leading British independent school. She started her teaching career in Chongqing, and she also has an array of appointments in teaching and management in China, including public key schools, regional admissions committee and education committees.
Dr Min Du joined Chengdu Westminster School as a full time employee in February this year. She will support the implementation of the education programme of Chengdu Westminster School, formulating strategic plans for the development of the school. Also, she is currently leading the development of the Junior Middle School of Chengdu Westminster School.
